ACSM getting double time
Permalink

I would just like to rant for a second here. I just think it's comical that managers, acsm, supervisors etc all treat the word "overtime" like a bad word. All overtime is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN no matter what! Yet our store manager asked one of our ACSMs to come back in the middle of the day to be manager on duty for the night. Because he worked a full shift in the morning already, the 6 hours he worked as a "manager on duty" earned him double time, or about $40 per hour. Interesting how management freaks out if I punch out 15 minutes late because I was busy doing something or helping a customer, probably earning me an extra $1.50 at most, yet others are allowed to make my ENTIRE PAYCHECK in double time in 1 day. That is all.

Its not really about how much money you will be making on your check that managment is worried about-its the numbers at the end of the week. If the number of overtime for the whole store is high for the week, nasty e-mails will surely come.

I haven't heard of ACSM being used in any other way, I'm confused by this. Unless they mean co-manager?

Yes, there is. Our CSM pulls well over 25/hr so our ACSM definitely gets close to 20/hr.

Not comanagers. They're talking about relief management. They have someone in the store play manager when there is short notice or no managers from other stores are available. They got rid of it in our area, but I used to do it all the time back when I was just a cashier.

@ techelite: Yea, now it's making more sense. We used to have these types, they were called Support Managers. Given store keys, a radio and almost all the authority of a salaried manager. And even tho they were hourly, they were paid just a grotesque amount of money. Between that and how all that petty control went to their heads, that's probably while they went away, lol~~~

I am a ACSC which is an ACSM but we call it asst. customer service coordinatior in columbus Ohio. I make 15.00 an hour. If a manager needs to go home ACSC or ACSM in your case will become the manager on duty. Other front end supivisor generally won't. Everyone else get overtime if we ask management first. Overtime can hurt in the long run because it puts hours behind.

customer service workers (acsm) make about $18.00 per hour here, so double time would be almost $40 per hour. i'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, just that's it's interesting how serious overtime is taken sometimes while other times it doesn't really matter.

ACSM are just like managers so that's why they think they can do what ever they want.

we have relief managers where I work, too. they make .70 more an hour. Whatever dept. head works late that night is the one that does it.(they stiil do their job,but just go upfront, ect. if they are needed) My husband used to do it full time, dress shirt, tie the whole nine, cause he was still in collage for managment, when they flipped him to dept. head to make more money, and they said he had to be a dept. head first b/f a co-man. but even when he wore a shirt and tie, he still only made 70 cents more an hour. what B.S.Now after working there awhile he's not sure he wants to get into managment.lol

Our relief managers made 14.90 which was pretty good when I was making 7.50-8.00 as a cashier so I always said yes when they asked me to do it.

that is  correct... ACSM= assistant customer service manager... 17.00 an hour I am one of them and let me say we or at least I feel for you all....

You do NOT get the proper training... YOU ARE the MOST important people in the ENTIRE store... baggers AND cashiers!!!! You are Krogers

LAST line of defense in customer service and I personally am sorry you are not recognized for it. But let me tell you... They **** on us just as much if not more!!!

We have to clean up ALL the dirty mess and take ALL the **** for it!!! The CSM's sit on there asses and don't do **** while we do ALL the "bad guy" work.

It sucks... AND for those ACSM's who are **** faces ..... **** you!!! I HATE having to discipline my baggers and/or cashiers for "POOR" performances when they were

never given the proper "TOOLS" to do a great job!!! They get thrown to the wolves on there first day and then get told... "YOU WATCHED THE VIDEO RIGHT"" WTF>>>

AND QUE VISION is a joke!!! our jobs are threatened EVERY DAY if we get more then 3"DIPS" in a day!!! They do not schedule enough help...EVER... and at last meeting we were told

when asked about getting more help.... we will make it work with what we have!!! OK!?!   Our president got a wonderful bonus of 16 MILLION dollars last year for saving money and making money what kind of **** is that?? not including his paycheck.... we are under paid under staffed and over worked!!!! weekends should be time and a half since we are not able

to be with our families while "THEY" are! And when min wage goes up EVERYONE should get raised up to that amount!!! Quit treating customers like cattle and herding them out so fast

we CANNOT get a chance to get personable with them...  shopping used to be a SOCIAL OUTING now it is get in get out.... Your saying "hey come here and shop but get out"

Enough about my bitch... If you were at my store you would know I appreciate you no matter the dept. you worked in, but especially in mine... for those of you that DONT

I value your hard work and I am sorry THE KROGER COMPANY does not give a **** about ANY of US because WE ARE ALL REPLACEABLE.... SO we need to suck it up OR become part of the union and make changes... SO 1960's!!! when it made a difference and people cared!!!! those days are long gone!!!!! f our lives!!!! but hey.... HAVE A GREAT DAY TOMORROW AND KNOW SOME OF US ARE IN THE SAME BOAT!!!! AND SOME OF US ARE REAL ENOUGH TO ADMIT IT!!!!!!! hmm
