Ok, the majority of the cashiers at my store are good people to work with. But there are some that think that they're the sh** and they'll want you bagging the way that THEY want you to bag. I'm a bagger and I never teach you guys on how to be a cashier. Don't give me this "I've been working here 35 years" crap either. It's too bad that you couldn't get yourself a real career or get promoted to CSM. Maybe they should bump you to CSM just so you can join the rest of the club that think's that they're the sh** too.

Well now...You're a bagger and you would never teach a cashier how to do their job. If the 35 yr. vets are trying to show you, THEN IT'S BECAUSE THEY KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING. Most of our baggers aren't worth a s**t. Even the old farts who should know better after buying groceries for a hundred years. And I've seen them throw eggs on the bottom and cans on top of fruit. And as for a "real career"? I've been working for 38 years for this *^@company and soon after I started had a wife and kids to take care of. For those of us who've been there a long time, we have great insurance, 6 weeks paid vacations, etc. etc. IT IS A REAL CAREER. Just ask any lifer.

Quit your whining.
I know what I'm doing. It's just that the cashier I'm talking about still finds ways to make me look like an idiot even though I know how to bag items and place them back on the cart. I swear she only does that to make herself the queen of the grocery store. I never put soft/fragile things on the bottom, only a moron would do that. I'm not saying that all 35 yr vets are bad people, just this one cashier makes that her excuse.

Some people need to make themselves feel awesome and powerful. People will find a way to make you look like an idiot if that is what gets their rocks off. Ignore her. I befriended all the baggers even though I wasn't a cashier. I always had a bagger when I went up to run register. Most of our baggers are good at what they do though, so that helps also.
Ok. We've narrowed it down then, so..I get it. Although I've been with them 38 years, another with me has been with them 30, and he does act the way that you're talking about here. As long as I've known him, he doesn't take the time to remember anyones' name, plus, he bags like s**t as well. He should've been a drill sgt. You could quit this job, but...sorry to say...there'd be another a**hole waiting for you. They are at every job and you can't get away from them. It's hard to do, but you'll have to let it go in one ear and out the other.
Baggers don't do their job. If I have been working for 35 years and you have only been working for whatever than shut up and listen because I have been their and done that crap. Now I a ACSM. I have only been working for Kroger for 2.5 years and I am 18 years old.

Ok just because a cashier thinks they know it all doesn't mean that baggers don't do their jobs. I do the equivalent work of 5 useless baggers combined and I've been there for 2 months. Many of my cashiers say that I've been doing a good job except this one bad apple. I know the rules and I play by them.

To say that "baggers don't do their job" to me is wrong. Many people start out bagging and do it well. Just because someone's been working there for a long time it doesn't mean they know everything and know what their doing, it just means they have seniority.
Seniority does not always equal being a better worker.
My friend and co-worker and cashier that thinks there **** does not stink needs to find the handle and flush.....learn everyday.....and never to old or too much time and service to consider and listen to other co-workers...
Baggers are still useless even though they are nice. Our baggers play too much and don't bounce around because they are always talking to their favorite cashiers.

How about take the time to train the baggers mr. acsm. if you're gonna call our baggers useless then get used to staying a back up. Be a team player and do your best to train the people you have.

Are you the idiot that used spill magic in the foyer on the brand new carpet?
At my store, almost all of the lifers actually were CSM's at one point, and then dropped to cashier since the extra dollar wasn't worth the bull****.
At my store, the courtesy clerks are so busy they don't have time to bounce to the obnoxious cashiers. Sometimes the cool cashiers even end up with two courtesy clerks somehow.
