I've worked at Kroger for about 6 years now. I'm 7 months pregnant and was just put on bed rest so I can't return to work until after the baby is born. I'm not sure what my next step needs to be as far as getting paid medical leave, and the person that deals in this stuff at my Kroger doesn't seem to know either. She said she's going to have to call corporate and find out. She's not very good about getting back to people and I'm just worried because of the bills I have to pay that I can't pay now that I'm out of work. I know it's going to take a while to get paid medical leave, and I'm trying to get this process on the move so I can pay my bills! Anyone else that has had to get paid medical leave? How long did it take and what did you need to do? Thanks!
Call your dept of job and family service and get on medicaid. Get any kind of assistance you can get while you're out of work and on bedrest. Try not to go crazy while on bedrest! What is in your contract as far as STD goes? I'm not under contract with the union, but we get 3 months at 100% pay. Good luck, I've been there, done that twice with bed rest. No fun, but necessary!
