I heard today that we won't be getting the $15 gift card we've been getting this tome of year for the last several years. Anyone else hearing of things like this? It kinda sucks mainly because someone posted a article on our bulletin board about Kroger raising expectations on earning because of a better than anticipated quarter. Seems like with all the money they make they can show us a little appreciation this time of year.
We were suppose to buy $15 dollar gift cards and exchange them at the 'Christmas Party.' But I was suspended today through no fault of my own. So I won't be attending that party. Although, I've never heard of anyone getting free anything, ever.
We got 20% off general merchandise items for a few days early in the month, but it was early in the week when a lot of us were low on money and waiting for payday. And there was a whole list of what we could and couldn't get a discount on.
We use to get gift cards. Then Two years ago we got our gift card and it said this will be the last year because Kroger can not Afford to do this any more. Then this year we opened on Christmas and if you are low on seniority like I am you had to work. I also closed Christmas Eve . And when we tried to close today 5 minutes before closing our district manager walked in and said we could not make announcement that we wer closing. So customers kept walking in. I did not get to see two of my kids for Christmas because of work. So I walked out! And I'm willing to bet next year we won't even close ! Our union is in bed with Kroger and here we are paying them to fight for us. They are not helping me be any kind of a real father. This has got me lit up. I'm starting to look for other means of work and I will no longer support this greaddy company! Jmo!
