A while back I was demoted from Clerk to Utility Clerk by choice to have more hours. Now i've been trying to get promoted back and I've been given a hard time about it. I read on here about someone being demoted and having to sign something to make it official but I was never asked to sign anything. So was there something I should have been asked to sign? If so could I use this to my advantage?
I always thought that cashiers had the most hours, but they have to be available anytime. You could definitely talk to your manager or union rep about it. I'm sure they will always be glad to have more cashiers. If not, see if you can transfer to another store.
