How many complaints would it take for you to get in trouble?
Last night I wrote on this lady's cake, and it didn't turn out all that bad. However, I'm not a cake decorator and don't always feel all that confident on my writing. She didn't say anything so I figured it was ok.
About 15 minutes later she comes back and said, oh I hate to complain but this cake doesn't look that good, can you fix it? It's for my mother and law (apparently she has a bitchy mother in law who would complain about the cake or something) I tried to fix it and she took it but she didn't seem all that thrilled.
I hope she didn't go up front and complain. When I first started there was a guy who hated a cake of mine and went up and complained and I was told not to worry about it by one of the co-managers who was there at the time.
My question is, how many complaints would it take to get in trouble? I try my hardest when I'm at work and the things I do every day I'm good at. But I've never really decorated a whole cake, and even though I went to the beginner cake class, I really only write on one maybe once a week at the most.
There used to be only two decent cake writers in the Bakery when I used to work at Kroger.. When those two wern't working, there were two Deli people that were fantastic at it that came to help just when someone needed something written on a cake.
There's one person in the deli who used to work in the bakery and I'm sure she could do it, but I'd feel like a complete idiot going over to ask for help to be honest :x
The only reason you would get in trouble over a customer satisfaction issue is if you had an attitude with the customer or ignored the customer. You did neither. She was just dissatisfied with the cake, which is no big deal.
