I love Kroger. The prices are great. I have been working at Kroger for 5 years. Customer Service is great and the stores are nice and clean. Meats and fruits are fresh. It is truely the best place to shop!

That's how I feel about my Kroger. While I haven't been working there long (so far so good), it is the cleanest and nicest grocery store out of the many options in the area. I tried to get produce (sure, i'd like some flies with my tangerines...thanks for asking, Wal-Mart) and seafood at other stores and kept coming back to Kroger... It seems like some others have had the opposite experience but I guess it just varies by location...

Eight years ago, Kroger was on the ropes against Walmart.
Now? Walmart has so seriously fkd things up for themselves that OF COURSE Kroger has stepped up their game and is now quickly becoming our biggest competitor. You won't see the numbers for that reflected in the stock market just yet, but I am here to tell you, it's happening. And for good reason.

Because they are ****ting on their employees just like they do at walmart. Success comes on the back of hardworking individuals. When you sell your soul for profits you're embodying the devil himself.

where I work is generally clean, kept stocked and conditioned although with the hours cut we're slipping and it bugs me. next week no one has over 20 hrs except full timers.
the kroger near where I live i avoid like the plague. the employees there look like the undead. it doesn't matter what time of day or night i drop in the shelves are a disaster.
I like Giant Eagle better, honestly. Their store here is so much fancier than Kroger, and they have a way better/more unusual food selection. Plus they participate in all the local events, which is nice. We have a "taste of our town" event every year and they're always there giving people a huge plate of food for $1 - Kroger doesn't even bother to show up. When I get my paycheck I go right across the street to shop there.
