February 7th . Was visiting a store in McKinney, texas and found out they had the service meat, seafood and a few other areas shut down and started over. Was not the health department but a kroger representasive susan yates, that shut them down. Being incharge of safty and sanitation for the SWKMA, she found the department dirty and unsuitable to standards set by theh company. Do not blame her but where is the management and key market people that let it go to that piont? how many people will be written up over this.
I can imagine store manager and market lead getting demoted, possibly co-managers being fired/put in last chance store. To have the departments completely shut down is incredibly pathetic.

I think when you did wave 5 labeling the whole store you forgot to put "Clean tables" and "Clean floor" labels on these things. You know us kroger people, we need labels on everything to guide us.

And the winner of the irony award IS.........Bonuses. That's the whole reason why budjets for everything are being increasingly slashed. Upper management pricks are running for the bucks and literally don't care ANY thing about the busineses any more.

I agree mostly with that, but to get to the point of shutting down a department still seems like the management is failing at the basics. I remember having to monkey together a schedule with what hours they gave us, but I still made sure that we at least covered the basics, and sanitation was the most basic thing. I wanted things clean, full, and merchandised in that order.

Its funny how she closes down a meat department because of "poor" conditions. I've heard there was a sanitization issue on top of her desk a few years ago involving her husband in her office... lol
