I will be starting at Kroger on the 21st, and the person who hired me, literally gave me no information about starting. They mailed me a shirt and name tag. Can anyone tell me all about what I get and everything about being an employee part-time at Kroger?
Hello! I've been at Kroger a total of about 10 days! I can only speak about being a cashier, but I got two training days and then they let me do it by myself. The register is easy to learn but mistakes do happen. I am still making plenty of my own) Don't ever be afraid to call a manager over for help because they can usually fix something quickly and you can watch them and learn a lot too. Idk what else to say but there are lots of helpful people on here if you have specific questions.
My bad. I didn't see your other post until I posted mine. I don't know much about courtesy clerk specifics except I love my courtesy clerks)They get to do all the go-backs and stuff so I do feel bad, but I truly think bagging is an art..

You got what you get. They don't provide pants any more. I assume you havent dont the computer training yet so you'll get that.
I can't imagine why they'd waste postage instead of have you pick it up that stuff in store.
Courtesy/utility clerks do bagging, carts, cleaning, floor sweeps, taking customers out if they need help out, they may do go backs (restocking) and random stuff.
Courtesy Clerk & Utility Clerk, eh? Pretty much the low of the low. You'll start at minimum wage and never be able to increase. No insurance available with that position.
You bag, clean and can even hang tags if needed with the scan coordinator. You can pretty much do almost anything except stock. You might also condition shelves (I had to do the whole store L-Blocked in 5 hours, it killed me) and pretty much whatever tasks they want you to do.
Bagging Carry groceries out to cars Clean bathrooms Clean anything Returning unwanted items to the shelf Facing/blocking shelves Dusting
You will be asked to do other random stuff, but depending on your union contract you may not have to do other things. Something to ask the store steward about. Generally though, if it is the express job of another department you are probably not supposed to (or paid properly to) do that job.
