Local store sales/Krogerwide initiatives.

As a courtesy clerk I have limited access to information about things that are going in my store as well as the Kroger Co. as a whole. I know this probably won't happen since in general the Kroger tptb don't give a hoot, but is there anyway I could get into the loop as it were?

Like the PP said, grab a circular like everyone else does. As a courtesy clerk, that's probably all you're going to be privy to, you don't need to know in order to do your job is what you will be told. When I worked grocery I knew what was going to be on sale the next week, I'm not in grocery anymore so I don't know that info ahead of time.

As a courtesy clerk myself for way the hell too long, do not worry about it.  It is not your job to know, you are not really expected to know.  I suspect that you want to be helpful and such.  If a customer asks about sales, run and get them an ad paper or direct them to a "real" employee who probably at least knows their own department's stuff.

That said, glad you want to be helpful.  That is a good quality to have.  We primarily help customers by bagging correctly, not destroying their products and pulling carts.  Focus on those things above memorizing adverts.

usually it is "standard proceedure" to go thru the Ad during the daily huddles.  I know this is done at a lot of stores both at Kroger and at other retail.  What manager doesn't want their employees to at least know the weekly deals.

Courtesy clerks are not included in any huddles. Cashiers aren't included for that matter, at least not in our store.

usually somebody from CS goes to our store huddles and no info ever reaches down to cashiers even if it effects them.

Front End is usually too busy to even get to go to any huddles in my store. Half the time, produce and frozen don't show up either.
