Come on now? I understand its the nature of corporations, but jesus. You want people to be happy and care about people shopping b eing happy? Give your people some time off, nothing like working 11 straight days to show some perspective. I understand Kroger isnt the only offender its like that anywhere you go now a days. I just wished these business's would wise up, and realize the success of your corporation depends on the people you have running it, so the happier they are, they happier your customers will be because they will go that extra mile to help customers as well. Maybe Its frustration speaking, but being as I haven't had a day off in almost 2 weeks, im a little frustrated.
I have a job interview this coming week, I pray I get this job, not because kroger is a terrible place to work, or that I don't like the people, because its a great place to work, and the people are for the most part really nice. My problem stems around the way they schedule, coming into work for 4.5 hours, its barely worth the gas money to get to and from work. When i got hired in, I remember saying "my schedule is open" it didn't mean ill work for 4 hours, 5 hours, 6 hours, 6 days a week. I feel as if I'm krogers slave, just because theres not alot of jobs right now, they can treat people any way they want when it comes to scheduling. Call it the bickering of a pestered person, call it what you like, I just want to have a couple days off.
Yah, I could go in and talk to my manager, and tell them im unavailable, but what I've learned happens is, they cut your hours back so much, your just better off living with what they give you.
Hopefully I get an offer from this job im applying for, and kroger can be a learning experience for me.
good luck. i've been there. it's a surprise and gamble every week.
i don't see how it sets a foundation for great people highly satsifying customers. to me it encourages burn out, apathy. it invites errors and inefficiency.
Just to add to that how about floating for hours? working four to six hour shifts makes it nearly impossible to do this. Kroger treats its employees like dirt and is quickly going down the path of, lets say, wallmart. p.s. to any Kroger reps who will most likley not read this, Costumers have most definatly noticed the changes in your QFC branch. I personaly have not heard one posotive review, produce quality has dropped by a huge margin. How can you send us straight garbage produce then tell us we cant get credit for it and it goes against our shrink. this is a huge issue in produce and anyone with half a brain could see how unfair this is.
the produce does look worse. some of the bell peppers are just nasty. i've fielded customer complaints. one said she'll start getting her produce at walmart and acknowledged they have always had terrible produce.
