How do you quit at kroger ?

To be honest , I'm just tired of kroger . Nothing to do with management or my coworkers . I'm just tired of being one of the lackeys (Bagger) . The whole "do what everybody tells you to do or doesn't want to do " has gotten old. The getting carts in every weather from extreme heat to extreme cold to rain has gotten old too . So I'm currently looking for another job and I'm wondering when the time does come , how do I quit ? I don't know if its the same at all the krogers , but I know here you write a note , don't know where you leave it though .

tape it to the front door.  use really large font and some explicitives....

but honestly,  you seem to be young so here is my advice.  when you find a new job, be damn sure it will be better then what you have now.  then go to your new place of work and find out when they want you to start.  now you have a good basis of what your future work life will be like.  then go and type up a cute little note or just hand write it saying that you are hereby giving your two week notice effective from the current date.  or just give a week if that is all you can do.  but give one or the other unless the new employer is very demanding that you work now in which case you'll have to negotiate and make some hard decisions.  put the note in an envelope (or just shove it in your back pocket if you dont give a damn) and at some point go up to your most immediate boss and politely tell them that you are giving your notice.  keep it short.  say it has been a pleasure to work here (even if it's complete BS). say that you wish the opportunity to come back and work for Kroger in the future.  smile.  let them respond.  when things seem to kind of be wrapping up say "oh, by the way, i have a letter i wish to give to you to make it official" and hand that person the note. they should take it. and whaaa laaaa.....  you'll be set.

best of luck and try not to burn your bridges......

One thought: If your new employer insists you start working right away, and without giving Kroger any kind of decent notice, consider that a huge red flag. If they're ok with you burning Kroger like that, THEY'D BE OK WITH BURNING YOU TOO.

Seen it happen.

Both thedude and nocturnia have great advice. Give two weeks written notice. Be cordial, do your job the way you should do it up until you clock out on your last day. Don't slag off because you're leaving. Leave on a high note and you'll be good to go. Good luck on your job hunt, if you don't want to be a "lackey" and do what everyone else tells you to do I hope you have plans on furthering your education.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it. It's not for me, personally. But I've been in management for too long so I can't say I enjoy being a "lackey". However, the OP stated he didn't like it, it's up to him/her to change it!!
