Hi everyone. I have a friend who works at Walgreens and she's using this website called activehours.com . Their suppose to let you take out money for the hours youve worked before paycheck comes, and its free. we'll, i guess they take tips, but its up to you. its weird it kind of sounds too good to be true, but she says she likes it and been using them for a couple months now. I'm wondering if anyone at Kroger here has used it before? I've been at Kroger since 2009 and i've never heard of them.

btw i'm new ot the forum, hi!

If there's no fee and they only rely on tips, how do they make any money?  There's got to be catch.

There's always a catch somewhere. Before you borrow against yourself, why not set up a budget?

it's probably a scam but i gotta wonder how you budget when working at kroger?  numbers of hours assigned are pretty random

I guess I haven't run up against that problem as I was full time within a few months of working for Kroger. But I honestly think everyone needs some sort of budget to work with or how else do you know where your money is going?

Full time status isn't a regular occurence.

Budgeting is hard if I might have overtime one week, and 12 hours the next.

Payday loans for an optional tip has to be a scam.

Interesting.... i just found this article where they explain the tips thing...... http://www.nerdwallet.com/blog/2013/pay-what-you-want-finance-making-debut/

i guess they interviewed the CEO and he said he started this company because he didnt want his own employees in his old company having to go to payday lenders. he even talked about Walgreens and Pizza Hut employees in there, so i'm kinda thinking it must be legit.......

i'm not gonna lie, it would be nice to have some extra cash, some weeks they slashed my hours so much I can hardly make it to the next paycheck. its not that i dont budget, its just hard.
