2 months ago, our Front-end back up left. Well some girl from another store applied and got the posistion over our 3rd lead clerk because she was supposed to already be a back-up. Well turns out the person from the other store's techincal posistion was "3rd lead clerk". This is where **** hits the fan. Our 3rd lead clerk has more seniorty than this other girl. So when our 3rd lead clerk found this out she filed grievence. Well in the case she wins. This other girl will go back to her original store. Our 3rd lead clerk will become back up, one of our full-timers will become 3rd lead clerk(possibly)
Okay. Well on another note, one of our other full-timers is stepping down. So that's two spots left for full time.
Okay. Well me and my really good friend both work at this store. And we both work office & know how to close. We are going to apply for these spots.
WELL! There is this woman who works the morning U-scan shifts. She has more seniorty than the both of us. Well would she get one of the spots over us because she has more seniorty or would we get both the spots because we know more?
She would get it because she had seniority, if she wanted it. If you two got both positions and she found out she was skipped completely, she would probably file a grievance and would definitely win, whether she actually wanted the position or not.
Of course all of this assumes they actually fill those full-time slots, which is not guaranteed. They may just decide to keep them part-time.
