look for another job then. you have to average like 36 hours for 27 weeks i believe and when you get close to that average they schedule you less hours and do everything they can to make you not get full time. They are doing that to me right now. its bull crap. find another job i know i am looking for one
You might be able to make full time on the front end if you work in the office. Otherwise, I would just ask around other departments and see if they need anybody. You're not likely to get full time in those departments either starting off but if you prove yourself to be a valuable worker the head of that department will do what they can to keep you. It may take a while though.
I'm a retail manager, and even tho it's rare that I promote peeps to FT, the ones I do have the same thing in common: They're hard, dependable workers who show initiative and strive to get ahead. And even tho I don't work for Kroger, promotions based on impressing happen e v e r y w h e r e.
It depends on how good you are and if you can get up to something like a floor supervisor, but if you can get into another department and work hard you can earn full time. I was a couresty clerk for 3 months, a cashier for 3 months, and now after 7 years i'm an assistant meat market manager.

I dont understand why... People would be better workers if they knew they would be earning a decent paycheck plus benefits... I have 2 kids and a husband who is laid off after 8 yrs of dedicated service, plus, im taking care of my disabled mom! I need more money which means I need more hours, so, its either I get more hours, or im just going to have to pick up another job and just work the 2....
You might have to work two.. I been in the service desk for two years and we lost 3 full timers up their and we keep getting more part timers. When I get close they limite me to 15 hours.
Won't Kroger fire you if they discover you are working for a competitor ? Good luck with those choices !
yeah they'll know when the W-4 is filed for the other employer. my store has somebody who works at costco too so maybe that's ok but whole foods or another grocery store and walmart are probably places to avoid.
