You know there are many of those who actively bash the union on here saying they're no good yet they never attend any of the monthly meetings or partipate in union functions. Well, I brought up an interesting point at the monthly union meeting that is being circulated around in response to ELMS and Key Retailing. I suggest you should bring this up as well at your meetings. I brought up how ELMS doesn't cover several things that should be put forth in hours. I'm going to give a copy of it to the union on how ELMS breaks down our hours and how we're slotted for them. The current ELMS hours set forth doesn't account for customer service or breaking down a truck. It only allows for 5 hours of wrapping in the meat department when in reality it about 21 hour / week job alone just for wrapping.

in our contract a meat wrapper doesn't exist. But we used to have a full time "meat wrapper" until she retired. Then managment thought we could do without one because they thought we were to good To have one so now they make us do it ourselves.

by all means keep going to union meetings and complaining about corporate procedures...it will be about as effective as hitting yourself in the dick with a hammer

It's important to keep stress levels high in order to maintain a good turnover rate.

That way, they can bring in more part-timers at minimum wage and terrible contracts.

ELMS is not set up from the get go at each store to be perfect or ideal.  it is up to the management staff at each store to go through their ELMS and find anything missing or incorrect then report it to either their store director or corporate office.  all this crap should of been done months if not years ago.  we have had ELMS now in our division for a good couple years.  if you feel there is stuff missing and needs to be adjusted, no problem!  contact the ELMS department at corporate and tell them your discoveries.  but before you do - make sure you know what you are talking about.
