No, unless your contract is awesome.

I can't find a copy of the contract right now but I'm pretty sure you get holiday pay for Easter with the UFCW 75 contract (Dayton/Cincinnati).

I work tomorrow and I just can't remember if it's time and a half or double time. :x

I work in Local 75 as well and I hate to burst your bubble but....

.... you dont get paid extra for Easter.  You do for New Years, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Where did I get that idea from then :/ I guess it was Memorial Day I'm thinking of.

Even though, Easter is as a important holiday as Christmas. Kroger gives no holiday pay, I think we should be closed or open short hours

For Local 1996 (ATL) it's "New Year's Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day or days legally celebrated in lieu thereof" if hired before Oct. 2005.

Hired after then?  It's only 4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day with two floating holidays mutually agreed to after one year on the job.

Senior employees are asked to volunteer for Easter and only required to work, in order of inverse seniority, if not enough volunteers.

Easter was steady busy but not the extremes of Christmas.  It was probably closer to Thanksgiving which didn't feel all that busy.  I can't believe so many people wait until Easter to shop for Easter.  It's just weird.

Saturday was a psych ward for us, but Sunday was joyfully relaxed. I kept waiting for the bomb to drop, but it didn't. I actually got several projects done that I was anticipating not even getting started on til next week.

Easter is not a federal holiday. Easter isn't anything. Worst holiday ever.

Apparently the morning was busy, but I wasn't there for it.

It was moderately busy the whole afternoon.  What was different was that there were no lulls between customers.  It was steady busy the whole time.

Not busy enough to be worth ruining the holiday for.

For us Saturday was a steady stream while Easter was packed wall to wall for about 12 hrs.

Hahaha! Apparently it wasn't in our store on Sunday! Our perimeter coolers broke down in meat and dairy and everything had to be moved to reefer trailers.
