Anyone here represent what might be called the "3rd in charge" in your department? Your not the dept head or backup, but rather the next guy on the totem pole? I work in the deli (because even if I didn't, you wouldn't know) and I am this person. I have worked for this company for quite some time (nearing 10 years) and I get **** on on a daily basis and I'm sick of it. Somebody who has been there as long as I am shouldn't have to work every Sunday (at my store I do!), shouldn't have to work a bunch of **** shifts and weekends all the time (I do!). What gives? How do some of you do it and get away with it? I'm getting 40 hours (or close to it) every week and I have an open availiability. There are others who have been there less than I have who get weekends off (every one of them) and rarely work past 330 or 430pm. Bull****
I always just tell people that even though I may be the most senior person in the department after the department head and the back up, I am not in charge of anything. I don't get paid extra to be in charge, and I don't want the responsibility. Call a manager if you have a problem.
I Know you. You work in grocery. The dsd guy and the fill in conditioners are technically the "3rd" in charge collectivelly....it takes all three to form a proper sentence and sometimes to think things through. Just do your job and no one elses and you too one day will be a token player in the game. Big k will reward you with a really good promotion such as but not limited to bread guy, dairy guy, maybe even hardcore biker dude with a sissy sensitive side as a backup. Chin up ol 4chan man..teh futures bright....specially down teh road were they have them skylites and lottsa lesboz working. And member....name no names.
