I go into my store today to pick some things up for my dad after having today and yesterday off. And after what seems to be a pattern when I get cosecutive days off something interesting happens. Well as I was leaving today I saw a sign on our front door stating that starting April 14th Our store will be closing at midnight. Far as I knowmy store has been a 24 hour store since it opened in the late 90's. And definitley for the 8 1/2 years I've been with Kroger my store has been a 24 hour store.
Will night crew still come in overnight or will they come in early in the morning and will hours be cut around the store? Not that they give out enough hours to begin with. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned.
That's usually been the pattern........But if Walmart continues down their insane path of under staffing, empty shelves and general "we don't give a sht" attitude, Kroger has a great opportunity to step up their game and re dominate the market. It's really just a question of who takes customer satisfaction more seriously.
Night crew comes in normally and works while the store is closed. You will lose the hours that are giving to cover the 6 hours or so that the store will be closed. Nothing else really changes except for cleaning duty being pushed onto the last person to come in for the day instead of being everyone's responsibility.
