somebody will tell you how to turn the slicers off and on then mention not to cut yourself. they'll show you where all the meats and cheeses are stored and the PLU charts. A few orders will trickle in and they will show you how to do them. Then all the sudden you are concidered trained and off you go on your lovely career as a deli clerk!

It seems like at my deli, every newbie cuts themselves within a week of working there at least once. I'm not sure why that is. Even I wasn't immune, I dropped a knife and reflexively reached out to catch it...bad idea! Haven't cut myself in the years since luckily. Be careful.
