It seems that who does our replenisment just grabs something next to the hole and fills it with that. It seems like every night at least 6 or 7 times i will try to stock something and find the wrong item where I need to stock something. Does this happen at any other stores. I have talked to the department head about this, he says he is sure nobody would be doing that. Talked to the manager about and that was a big waste of time.
in my store, people do this cause it interferes with work. Grocery guys get this huge 3 page list of items their suppose to find in a mess, we got 1 guy or 2 at most in grocery, they have to do this to stay out of trouble and still get work done. If they went and found all the items nothing would get stocked and you would have 10x the holes tomorrow.
Give them a break, their just trying to survive and not leave you with a ****load of work to do.
Yeah you will get yelled at when your department has too many holes... its normal for departments too roll an item too make it blend in... But If you take your time doing the shoot you will catch most of them. Then get cursed out by everyone for finding the rolled items. I am just glade I don't have too work grocery's replenishment report anymore we got new management so I was able too switch departments.
there's a limit of a few hundred holes across tens of thousands of shelved products.
as part of conditioning we'll pull items over to fill the gaps and, of course, the customer gets to the front-end and is angry when the "price is wrong" or it's "non-wic" because it was in the wrong spot.
I don't know why they wouldn't just fill the hole or if it's not there zero it out. But management won't to anything if the person doing it is "well liked" by the company. I've seen one person get in trouble for doing something everybody does. The store level managers care more about politics than store profits.
