I am I meat clerk, trained for Assistant Meat Manager waiting on our Meat manager to leave to another store or be promoted. I am trained to the same level as he is now. We both have our " 2 inventories " left to do, but I have been told by the store manager they can be fluffed off, whatever that means. Last year when our old store manager left, on his last day he told me to ask about taking our assistant meat managers classification and claiming his status for pay. Does he mean his job or journeyman status since our assistant meat manager is a journeyman. He said there are only a couple people at one time allowed in the store for the "special classification" so I have no clue what the heck he was talking about. Rightnow they keep giving the roundabout with promotion in the department. Saying That our assistant Meat manager shoudl be promoted and or moved to another store. There are multiple available positions for Meat heads at other nearby stores. Why are they dragging their feet? I don't get it!
In some contracts like mine if the assistant runs it for more than 3 days you get the market managers pay. You would write it in the book asb"relief pay". Which district are you? Im in district 10.
