Keeping found money.

The other day I found $100.00 bill on the floor during sweeps. I looked around and no one was down my aisle, so I picked it up and kept it. I find other cash frOm time to time; $1.00 here and there and occasionally $5.00 I kept it all. Can you get in trouble for keeping found money? If you turn it in Kroger just keeps it anyways; so what's the deal?

Don't get caught. I found $10 one time and some deli people were close enough to see me so I turned it in to be safe.

I'm here to tell you, sometimes management and AP will plant traps. I'm sure Kroger has security cameras.....You don't want to get caught on them because, yes, you will be fired.

Yes, you will be terminated. What if the person that lost the 100 $ bill comes back to tell management that they lost it and then it comes back to you because somebody you told you found it squealed on you or seen you pick it up Or on camera. It's viewed as an honesty thing.

customers do come back looking for their cash and management will check the cameras for them.  it's happened at my store.  all found money should be turned in.  this happens all the time at self-checkout... someone will forget their cash so we segregate it in the till with a note for at least 24 hrs.

just imagine if it was your lost $100.

If I'm checking out and someone has left cash in a u-scan I'm using I'll turn it in.  If it's loose change though I keep it.

I found like $50.00 once on Christmas Eve. I told my supervisor I found it and told her I found it on an asle sweeping. She said to just put it in my pocket and not tell anyone. So that's what I did. I mentioned it to my paraents. They said someone could have put it on the floor thinking someone in need may find it. I know they could have just gave it to a charity. But everyone knows some people have  as strange was of doing things.
