How employees are treated at kroger

Attention Kroger stop spending money on new tee shirts about We Are Glad You Are Here instead spend money on the people doing the work everyday. Use all the money to promote your employees that will be more profitable in the end.  People will shop at our stores when they see how happy their workers are to be working there. Employees are treated like they don't matter, hours cut, management harassing the employees that come to work and actually work.  Happy employees  equals Happy Customers.  It is that simple. Hard working people are the ones that make a business successful not the ones sitting in the office telling us how to do it and how long it should take.

In some places it works, in some it doesn't.  It depends on the who and where.  My store used to be great.  We've got a long way to go to get back there.

disbeliefKroger tells you when they hire you customers are always rite. No matter what. When I'm off duty and go in to pick my check up at store 466. One lady in particular is very rude to me, she is black and I'm white. She tells me when I tear the edges off my check and leave them on the counter. She tells me very loud and rude that I better come back and throw my trash away. I tell her to do her job and throw them away. I reporther to the boss. He told me that he can fire me even though I'm off that day. And tell me that I'm the problem. They are racist.you do not want to work for Kroger.

Erm, it sounds like you're being the jerk in that situation. Why can't you just throw them away?  When I tear the edges off my check, I always throw them away myself.  Same with other people I've seen who are getting their checks.  At the very least, why couldn't you have just politely asked her to throw them away instead of leaving a mess on the counter and walking away?  I would have said you were the problem too, it sounds like you're being confrontational with her for no reason.

THE DUDE is right! You are a messy, dirty slob! A CLEAN STORE IS A HAPPY STORE! This has absolutely nothing to do with black and white and if you are close minded enough to think that it does then there's an inbred holler down south missing you.

Mind your manners and throw your crap away. You're being the rude one, and who cares who is what color. Just because she is at the service desk doesn't mean she's your maid and has to throw away your scrap paper. Surely your parents taught you better than that. Even my 2 y/o knows to throw her trash away.

I love how one anonymous troll can completely redirect a thread to their own amusement, then sit back and laugh as everybody responds....

They're like Gremlins: Don't feed or water 'em after midnight!

Actually Kroger doesn't tell you the customer is always right.  They say win the customer, not the argument.  Show them you're trying to handle their situation even if there's no way to resolve it.

In your case you were just being a lazy and discourteous by making the service desk a mess.  Believe me, it gets to be a mess all on its own some days, it doesn't need you helping it along.  You have no pride in your store or yourself if you felt it more important to complain about a coworker than just be adult and toss your trash.

Part of me thinks that guy was a troll and part of me thinks that guy really does believe the stuff he's posting, lol.

As for walmart, nocturnia, I was in walmart this morning and had to stand in life for over 15 minutes just to pay for my groceries. that's just sad. the ones i got at kroger, i was out in like 5 minutes.

there are some things that really are better deals at walmart but thats the one thing that always annoys me about going there :(

That lady is right. If I saw you do that everytime I would slap your jaws so hard. If you came and hit me back then I would be on you like a fat kid on chocolate ice cream. I mean it is YOUR checkstub edges. THROW_THEM_AWAY it has nothing to do with race.

How you are treated really depends on how good the management is at handling pressure. I've had a new manager that I've never met legit boss me around and they've never introduced themselves.

Agreed. I ALWAYS throw MY trash away. I NEVER EVER throw other people's trash away for them unless they POLITELY ask if I can. Why should she throw YOUR trash away. I know of this one co worker who despises me because whenever she leaves her mess for me, I bring it back to her and say "you left this"

Here's a hard truth: Employees are not considered assets. And this isn't just in Kroger in particular, or retail in general---But EVERY where in business. Sucks, but it's a reality.

Another bullet: The only employees whom are decently rewarded are the ones harder to replace; i.e., white collar professionals or skilled laborers. Always been that way.....Always will. If some one wants better wages/working conditions, they need to make it happen for themselves either through increasing their education, or starting their own business.

If I was at that store and this employee continually left her trash in my work area, I would take my waste basket and go to her car and dump the crap on it one day.
