I went to work early this morning and noticed that two cans of garbage didn't get taken out the night before. Well, I went to work with what I had to do and figured either I would take them out later when I had a moment or someone else would. Well, the deli manager came in about an hour later and made a big deal over the garbage not being taken out. She took it out and made a big deal about how it only took 3 minutes to do. Well, bully for her. It's not as if the world was going to end if the garbage wasn't taken out right at that moment. She's already driven people away. One guy transferred out just last week. I'm thinking of turning in my request for tranfer. It's already filled out.
Well yes you can transfer but then she wins. If you are clever and witty enough you can give her enough rope to hang herself. Then you could rejoice in the fact that you drove off the Wicked Witch of the West....but if she's like most dept. hds. she hates her job and takes it out on her underlings. So in essence you'd be doing her a favor by helping her get out of that dump... oh and the next one probably won't be any better. One other possibility is that they'll accept her into mgmt.- sounds like the type they like to have in charge.
Lol at the one anon, if they left it the night before, that wasn't his fault it wasn't done, it was the fault of whoever the closers were.
If you're closing for the night, you need to have enough sense not to leave a mess for the next person.
im the 1st one in the next morning at my deli. for the most part, things are pretty much done and in order from the night before. on rare occasions, a couple bags of trash are left or some dishes were not put away or things to that extent. when that happens, I have to ask why. was it busy? did some one call off? or did they leave early? I personally am pretty good at juggling several things at once. My first endeavor is to do a few quick touch up things that the young boys from the night shift just don't have the common sense to do (or they don't give a rats ass). On our morning shift, I don't think half of the crew know that there is a dumpster back in receiving. They must think that some deli fairy takes care of those things. These are the lazy, lucky if you get 50% work out of them, individuals. I'm glad I do the chicken area and am in my own little world while they handle all the slicing and counter customers.

This is what you should have said.
