So we just started this new scheduling thing and it has me working some really messed hours. I mean like 1-11 pm crazy hours. Has anyone had this problem?

I don't have it yet. but i'm sure it will carry with it some initial glitches that need to be ironed out.  just hang in there and speak up to your supervisor about getting things fixed.

We are just starting to do it. We do our CBT's on it this and next week. We only have 6 techs, so it's not like there is going to be that much problem with our schedule.

Well, I envy you there. I am an ACSM in a marketplace store with ~220 employees total, roughly half of that in FE alone. We go to e-schedule this third quarter. I have heard that it is like the current system, but better. We'll see.

We're supposed to be switching to it sometime, but i'm not sure when.
I hope it makes things easier. My department has 6 employees, 2 of which are 40 hr full time, another 1 who gets 36-40 hours. We'll see.

It's a program that is replacing sked. It has new features, a redone core functionality with new abilities, etc. I was told directly by our division FE coordinator that for someone who is familiar with using sked, the transition to e-schedule should be very easy, as interacting with the program will be very similar, and a few things which must be done manually now are automated or distributed to the concerned employee.

E scheduling is great, some of it's features are quiet good enough for everyone. I wonder that now time management tasks will be more easier than it ever was.

I would think scheduling FE would be an absolute nightmare. I feel bad for anyone who has to do that schedule. Or deal with the issues. I'll just stick to pharmacy, everyone (management) leaves us be because they don't understand it, and we don't have much of a turnover rate either.

What I don't understand is we have someone that closes every night even though they aren't last on seniority, she likes closing and is actually terrible at doing any tasks with any sort of responsibility, is there a way to input this?  or will she now get opening shifts even thought she nor management want that to happen?

This girl is getting that shift because she is manually scheduled for them before the auto-scheduler is run. Technically speaking, no shifts should be manually scheduled (hahahahaha, yeah right!!) but we have to input manuals for everything but our checklane cashiers and baggers.

sometimes shifts have to be manually scheduled because of things e-scheduler can't know like workman's comp injuries limiting what a person can do.  we're supposed to 'trust the system' but that's not how it rolls in my store.

Exactly. We have 2 sets of SCO lanes that need opening and closing cashiers at each, opening and closing office clerks, accounting clerk, greeters, opening and closing utility clerks, and opening and closing FES clerks. All of these shifts have to be manually input for a multitude of reasons. It's lovely. Also, it takes about 2 hours just for the manual shifts.

E-schedule still works with the ELMs and budget programs. It is now only going to schedule what is set up in Elms and what is budgeted by store management. My dairy this week will have everyone scheduled that works that department. We have one truck that day(no milk truck) and on Monday we only have about 12 hours of coverage and Tuesday only about 14 hours with the milk truck. If your management sucks at budgeting for specific days and tasks this program will only make things worse.

I now have eschedule on my greatpeople.me page but it's blank.

I guess this means they're still working out the bugs in it?

YEP! Changed my hours totally from what I have worked for years. Same with others in this store. We are all so mad about it. Full time people seem to get screwed while part time gets better hours. Kroger cares NOTHING about their best workers-or any of them really. And they say they can't make changes-guess it just depends on who you are. You can't have a life working for this soul sucking company. They want to own your life.

Didn't help me-spoke to 3 managers and they keep saying the needs of the company come before the needs of the employees. Great company-great people? Not at all!

So can you manually change things on the schedule? Does it have to get approved through store management?

Well typically those decisions are up to the individual department heads, unless issues start to arise, in which case mgmt gets involved.

The ability to change the schedule manually at any time is a pretty important feature, enough so that I feel safe assuming that it will be possible.

I noticed my availability was wiped out-so I went back and restored it. Then I was told since I am full time-if I didn't list it as open-I would be put to part time. Hello-union? Is this allowed? The store manager is the one who wiped it out, without my consent or talking to me first.

I'm pretty sure that would be a violation of the contract, but you'd have to consult someone in-the-know in your store as I don't know for sure the details of said contract.

Typically full-time Employees cannot limit availability and must be open to work any and all hours up to forty.  What status are you?

I just started with Kroger and Im trying to figure out this E-Schedule thing. Sooo im now locked out of it cause I tired to login too many times with wrong pass. How do I get in? And how do I find out what my logon and pass is since I've apparently forgotten.

You have to get on a computer at work and go to passport from the start menu. That is required to unlock your account and it will let you set up a new password with your EUID as the username.

I saw a flyer tonight that said starting the week of the 16th we're getting e-schedule.... yay....

Should I expect a really weird schedule that week? Or will they fix any odd things the computer wants to make?

Everyone will pretty much get randomly assigned shifts for a week or two unless the manager is proactive.

It's also a tremendously convenient excuse for cutting and adding hours.  "Why aren't there any cashiers/baggers/whatevers?"  "I don't know, eschedule did it."

So are you saying the computer writes the schedules now instead of dept heads?

For a lot of the store, the schedule is already written by a computer.

Where does it say that in the contract?  If it doesn't say it in the contract, then they can't enforce it.
