Transfering companies?

Hi, Im interested in moving to South Carolina with my wife to be closer to her family and currently work for Fred Meyer. Im curious if there are many kroger owned stores in SC and what they consider journeyman pay? I am an assistant dept manager and willing to take PT20 journeyman. But is it the same pay I get now? $19.20/hr. Also, how does the union work in a "right-to-work" state? Any insight would be appreciated, I'm definitely not willing to talk to my store management about it because of possible retaliation, I will contact kroger stores directly when I'm ready to start the transition. Thanks.

There is no way you are keeping that high of pay...think hard about your decision.

My department head has worked for Kroger for 35 years and doesn't make that much.

There's no way you'd get that much if you moved.

what the others have said is basically correct. when you leave your current position and try to transfer to a Kroger store elsewhere in the country, you pretty much are forced to start all over.  whatever pay, tenure and perks you have gotten along the way will be gone.  its all about the different union contracts.  you will be lucky if you are offered above $11 / hr.  And you will be the bottom feeder newbie.

  Best of Luck disbelief
