Corporate walkthrough... Meh...

hmm

We are having a MAJOR corporate walkthrough and I just can't seem to make myself concerned at all. If they show, fine. If not, who cares? I even had one dept. Head tell me to quit lollygagging and get to work. I told her its my time(I was off the clock and not yet punched in) needless to say it went over very poorly. She got all upset and I'm not even in her dept. now management is calling me but I just want to finish my snack then I'll go see what they want. Maybe.

Was it during your break or before you were scheduled to work? If so I don't see how it's your problem to worry about their mess.

department heads and managers are very concerned about corporate people. Screw 'em, imo.

If management did what they were supposed to everyday, they wouldn't have to worry about it.

In my over 30 years of experiencing "Red Alerts" for possible visits from company big shots.... quite possibly the biggest ongoing snow job in corporate history... Heaven forbid that they show up on a busy Saturday afternoon and see how things really are... I'm with u I have trouble getting fired up and working like a dog just so some 6 or 7 figure VIP can get catered to and see our  phony dog and pony shows. Dept. hds. run around like chickens with their heads cut off... Managers actually get out on the sales floor and in the backrooms like they're supposed to do everyday but seldom do. Many extra hours are spent putting on snow job that they have to cut out later on in week when they really are needed. Screw the customer, torment the hourly help, beat on the vendors, cause the managers to lose control of their bowels...all so a couple "Suits" can stroll the perimeter and ask questions that will result in self-fulfilling answers and boot licking. One other thing- never once have I seen any VIP actually buy anything, help stock anything, or help service a customer on one of their well warned store visits. You know many of the higher ups act like they don't even work for the same company and that they are too high and mighty to be a team member with us hourly peons.... What a Load of BS!

We had one today. It's been chaos all week. Store looks awesome though.

We overstaff the day before and day of, the store looks great for one day and then the rest of the week we're short.

that's not just the Kroger way, that's all retail way.  if you know about a walk thru days prior you're gonna clean the place up. Kroger or elsewhere.  done it at too many places to mention.
