Can I be "rehired" 5 years later?

Long story short, I was fired in 2008 after 4 weeks right before my probation period was going to end. I was called to the managers office where he said that I was too slow checking out, and said it "wasn't a good fit, and honestly you easily could have slipped through the cracks and made it off probation had I not caught it". He also asked "why I took so many bathroom breaks?".  I wasn't happy at the time, but now that I am 5 years older and have my undergraduate and MBA in hand. I wanted to seek an entry level or assistant manager position. Am In the "no hire" system for sure? Or maybe not put into the system if its during probationary period? How do I know if I'm blacklisted? I mean, I know I'm a different person 5 years later. Also I am applying in a different state. Could this help? thanks everyone!

Honestly, I've seen people who shouldn't have been hired given another chance so it IS possible.

You would only know if you had the do-not-hire flag by asking someone at a local store who has access to that knowledge, like the ASP or a manager.
