I have been with Kroger for 6 years. Unlike some of my friends I'm willing to go to a different store just to get my full-time. I know that is a hard thing to get. So for the last 4 years I have signed about 20 job bids. Finally this year I got Assistant Deli Manager (Backup)...Full-time and a raise yes good for me. Well I'm having a problem with the head deli person because she wanted her best friends to get it. Well now she is treating me like **** and I don't feel I work as a backup. Her best friend does my job title and I'm stuck doing other stuff that is not my job title. I took it to management. Well all that did was open a huge can of worms. I went back to my old store and ask to come back sure they would love to have me but I would loose my full-time. I'm stuck until something opens up. Standing up for myself is not working and kissing her ass doesn't either, and I have also tried killing her with kindness that's not working. If she treats me that way and the other co workers see that then how in the hell am I gonna make them listen to me when she goes on vacation. It makes it a hostile working place. Favoritism...yes...The head deli lady is also a shop steward. Remind you I have only been at this store for about a month. I'm home sick, but I don't want to loose my full-time. Any suggestions?
If you've tried everything that involves "caring" how about stopping that. Screw them! You earned your spot and have every right to be there! If they want to show favoritism then they are scum of the human world and need to be treated as such.
This isn't high school anymore. Their friendship should mean nothing to you.

I'd fire my friends or family member if they weren't doing the job.

Sounds like the deli manager and whoever sides with her needs to get the fk over it.
The manager/assistant deli manager who were there when i first started in bakery were both extremely rude, the ones that are there now came from other stores and are awesome. They need to give you a chance before assuming the worst.

Thank You....Your right I'm just going to go in there and try to do my job title and screw them...Karma sucks...I hope if I sign another bid and get it that the backup still doesnt go to her precious friend. I also hope that the backup is lazy and doesnt care. lol...

Thank You! I'm not affraid of work. I ask the girls all the time if they need help with chicken, trash, orders, unloading trucks, and putting the orders away. The girls are nice to me and love when I help...The head deli and her friend is the two girls that are a bitch to me. The other girls in the deli told me that they would rather work with me because I'm nice, fair, and not affraid to get my hands dirty. I feel everybody should help everybody. Just because I have a title I'm not better then them. I have been there in there shoes before and I loved it when management would help me. That way they understand why it takes time to do certain things. There is no I in the word Team....
As long as your pay isn't affected, I don't see what the problem is.
True you have a point. My pay is not affected. I would rather do the job I got and earned. I guess it does make it nice that I do ****ty things and get paid good wages for it...
Even though I deleted my name I hope no one from my store will find this. They will know who I am and I have heard that the stuff you say about Kroger can be held against you. I just wanted some ideas...Thanks guys!

unfortuntuly if you only been there a month there is not much you can do really.
i'd like to point out that they give preference to full-timers for job bids, so if you can't stand this manager you could sign a bid to another store and will most likely get it. It might be for a different department but you could always bounce around a little until the right bid comes up for you! Just a thought & good luck to you!

I found out today that if I don't get another position within a year that I can go back to my old store and keep my full-time...Just letting everybody know just in-case your in the same boat...

Thank You! I'm signing some new bids coming up. I have a pretty good chance on getting a least one of them....:)
