Did the coworker get suspended also?  Did you get a chance to explain your side of the story?

That sux for you.  I want you to grieve it and fight it every step.  I have 5 1/2 years and am looking forward to the top pay in half a year.

I have been reading this forum for the last 2 days and we have the same drama and issues at our store too.

What I mean is in your company file.... if you do this can be fought and you could come back. Anytime a customer mentions me in the receipt tracker I record the comment and put it in "my file". If they try and justify a demotion or try and unjustly demote me i'll pull out my file and win arbitration.

Thedude, correct me wrong but aren't you a department head?

That alone should have given you the power to just tell her to take out the damn trash.

Well screw quick reply, thought I posted this yesterday.

"I'll volunteer for the position. My dream of leaving Kroger within the year makes me think it would not be a super long term position, but I guarantee to pass the moderator hat when that time does come, if I am chosen. I have experience moderating a few other forums some years back. Even then, we are a fairly well behaved group save the spam monsters and derpy anons that lurk the dark recesses of the internet. I know I am not the most vocal member, but I do check in fairly frequently.

Perhaps if you go see dem penguins, keep an eye out for the crazy penguins"

I have no burning need to be moderator and nothing against Bagboy, just throwing my hat in the race.

Edit: You gotta go help dem penguins man.

Mr. Dude, I think you know what the company's and union's arbitration outcome will be. I've seen many folks come and go(damn surprised I haven't been one of em but I view my job as a form of pentance for evils committed in a prior life- or last week- can't remember for sure) over a lot less trivial scenes than what you were involved in. The union will not go out on a limb for you in spite of what they may lead you to believe. When it's all said and done the UFCW folks will be down at the base trunk of the tree along with the Kroger Gestapo( oops I meant H.R.) shaking the tree and saying C Ya Later Mfer! Where they've got u by the short hairs is that u created a hostile work environment by firing the first shot and then by adding more fuel to the fire as this thing played out. And let me stop right here- I heartily condone ur actions and if it was my store then there would be no whiners, no slobs, no slackers but since it's Barneyland where its supposed to be just like the cartoon character Barney show- I luv u, u luv me, we're one happy family.....blah, blah, blah... then folks like u that have high standards and work ethics are misfits and malcontents. The company would rather sever ties with u and hire a couple part time chicken fryers that are ignorant, entry level pay , losers that will be content to come in everyday( or when they feel like it- lol)  and do the same monotonous  work and probably be told hundreds of times over and over to stop and clean up their messes, fill out the logs, change their gloves, pay attention to customers, fill and police the cases, etc. - basic things that even a caveman could do.

Now for the positive side of this situation- you very obviously are a cut above the average deli employee in skillset and cleanliness- you would be an asset at an upscale store/deli- someplace like Fresh Market, Whole Foods, Wild Oats- where prices are high but service is upscale and professional. They wouldn't pay u any less than Barney and ur peer group would be a whole lot sharper and professional. Deep in ur subconscious ur brain made u snap- it's the brain's way of making u react to an unhappy, unhealthy work scenario. There's a loss u feel because u've been kicked to the curb at the hands of some nimrod co-mgr. that had it out for u and as of now it appears she and Barney won and got the best of u. BUT here's the real outcome- u'll move on to better and happier workplace while they stay there hiring lowbrow, transient, loser entry level people to perform robotic, no-brainer tasks. I have a long time friend that got fed up with key retailing and Barney's Purge(converting to a 70% part-time/no benefits master plan)   and now works at Whole Foods- This person says they feel rejuvenated, happy to go to work, and rejoices at working with a peer group that has more than double digit IQs - oh and they make more per hour also. Ur of the age where u have plenty of good years left so starting over is not a problem. Just always remember ur co-workers are people u just happen to work at the same place with- u don't have to be best of friends with, socialize with, argue politics with- the less involvement the better, and last but not least- some people are just slobs- be glad u don't hafta live with them.
