Check your union contract. In some contracts, you get a "true" transfer (the only thing that changes is the store you work at). In other contracts, you're technically a brand new employee (transfer in name only).
i'm just curious is experience pay measured only in years or do your skills come into place as well?
Basically it comes down to what the manager and hiring person is okay with....I've known plenty of people that get hired in with "2 years experience pay" without actually having any experience or skills.

Hmm, I worked really hard to get my nickel raises for the first two years. We are having a shortage of night crew help and no one wants to get hired for the part time positions open. The girl that hires mentioned that they might start offering experience pay to get people in.

Reposted. This is what I posted. The above was someone elses posting.

Can you file a grievance if new hires are getting paid more than you if you've already been working there (in the case where someone is given "experience pay" without experience)?
I worked at kroger for 10 years, had to take time off for medical reasons and then transferred to a different store. Only after the transfer did I find out the current store I work at is on a "country contract" and I took $1.05 an hour pay cut. Really Sucks.
