Dying my hair

I am planning on dying my hair but my friends brought it to my attention that I could get fired if it is a crazy color. I already bought burgundy. Am I going to get suspended/fired if I come into work like that?

depends on the store. we've had workers with hot pink and other colors. it was not a real problem.  piercings, giant earrings and that sort are a problem.  why not ask your dept head or whoever?

My store is the opposite. Natural hair color only. Small piercings, ear loops, and semi visible tattoos are tolerated.

But yeah it depends on the store and the people in charge.

we got this young kid who is stretching his ear lobes out.  Every couple weeks the thingies he uses would be a different color.  I guess there is some kit you buy to do such a thing called"EAR LOBE STRETCHING OF IDIOTS"

HAHAHAHAHAHA! ( Re last post; I can't seem to attach responses anymore).....

Yea, you should be ok. Burgundy? Never heard or experienced any trouble with that. I've hired people with ultra jet black, chrome-sprayed silver and even multi-colored hair styles before. You'll find that it really comes down to personal opinions of hiring staff, and NOT 'Company Policy'.

Burgandy looks natural enough.  Ask your store manager what is acceptable.  If you value your job, follow your managers' rules.  Find a way to temporarily dye it outside of work.

We had one girl that dyed her hair bright flourescent colots.  She was gorgeous with it like that and it wasn't too outrageous.  We got a new manager and he said absolutely not.  She was still pretty.  Now, we have another manager.  Her hair has been dyed on and off.

A friend of mine used to work in a different store than me, in the deli, and she had burgundy hair and no one ever cared.

II wish I could dye my hair again.

My hair was blue/green/black when I got hired and our new manager says only natural hair colors.

Which makes no sense when other people have unnatural colors and he says nothing to them.

hell while i'm at it - maybe I'll get my ear re-pierced. its been a good 25 years.  any suggestions on style of ear ring? hoop, diamond, gold BB done all those.  something avant-garde this time.

I hear ear-stretching is in if you want to go for the douchebag look.
