Seems like every time I hit up the old Kroger's, I get to hear this ditty on the PA. I'm glad I don't have to hear that crap several times a shift.
Oh, and on an unrelated note (slightly), I've noticed a High Five board or some such on the front end of my regular haunt, I think it has to do something with OSAT's? What's the deal with that (Central Div, by the way)? I noticed they're way off their goal (goal 80, score 53).

Yeah, "high five" is the buzz word we have for our customer survey which produces the OSAT. It is "high five" because if it isn't five, it counts as a zero. "We don't want the customer to like us, we want them to love us!" The OSAT "target" is 80% of customers giving those fives. Realistically most stores numbers are much much lower, and in my division getting a 65 is commendable.
Edit: Our store is small, but really we only get one to two people to actually do the survey a week.
That little jingle is actually part of a new program where every associate in the store is to drop whatever they are doing and check to see if there are any customers nearby enough to talk to, and go ask how they are and if they need help.
However, this is generally not followed. The helpful clerks are helpful, the unhelpful don't care, and most everyone is perpetually under the gun such that unauthorized overtime is a normal part of the week.

lol, I am always the last to get the memo. I will listen for the jingle and try to find a customer next time. How does the jingle go?
