I am trying to get a part time job at a local Kroger here in Michigan. I only need to work 20 to 24 hours max per week. I do have a limited schedule where I can only work four days per week. Will Kroger just give me the 12 hour minimum or can I get at least 20 hours working Friday thru Monday ?
Kroger is very flexible......when it comes to preferred days off. Hours, not so much. The key is to perform a balancing act with how many days you can work.
Anyhow, the most they can make you work is 28 hours anyways. If you're lucky, you might be able to get away with just working Friday-Sunday. The most they could make you work in that situation is 24 hours.
But, anyhow, all this talk is probably meaningless because to be quite honest, they're probably not going to hire someone with such limited availability unless they're really understaffed.

I would like to work in the meat department but any will do. I was looking at early morning like 6am to 11am.
Meat dept in my store doesn't even OPEN until 9. I'm not sure what time they start, but it's not 6am. I highly doubt you'd get those hours in the morning.
Same here, I think the earliest anyone who works in meat comes in in my store is 8am. The meat dept. opens up at 9.
In my store the only service dept that has anyone scheduled that early is the bakery, we have our baker come in at 5, but the deli has their first person scheduled at 7.
