Our contract says if you're scheduled more than 8 hours (not counting your lunch break) you get an additional 15 minute break. Of course why bother if it's only a half hour over?
for ATL local 1996, you have to work 10 hrs for an extra 15 min otherwise it's two 15 min breaks even for 9 hrs.
i've worked 8 and 9 hrs without getting a break too many times now. it's unconscionable. i've complained and been told to suck it up.
a worker shouldn't have to choose between the break owed under label contract and being yelled at by management who will not miss their own break/meal/lunch times. it's wrong but i don't feel there's recourse.
