Alright well i work at store 614 and our manager has a few policies that really need to change. First she constantly allows grocery clerks to be called up front to cashier. and its not just every once in a while, its more like everyday. Second, she's makin afternoon grocery clerks work from 330-12 instead of 130-10. she feels that we can get more work done once it slows down but the night crew comes in at 10 and just get in our way more than the customers. I would hope to get some "business" reasons y working 330-12 isnt working smarter not harder.
first of all how can the night crew be in your way if they are in the back stocking and you are up front running a register? then 2nd ly you have to remember customers first. if they get busy up front then yes by all right page people to come to the front to help out on the register. that's your job, so get used to it and get over it. oh so have you figured it out yet? yes i work for kroger, and when we get busy that is what we are supposed to do, is page ppl from the back to come to the front. but ya know what pisses me off the most, is when you page ppl to help up front, they get these excuses that they were in the cooler and they didn't you page them, then they wait for like 5 minutes then they come to the front after the crowd is gone, which means they can go back to doing what thay were doing, which was probably texting one of there friends and they didn't want to stop to go up front and help out for 5 minutes. and then the ones that do come up front when they are paged, they grumble about it the whole time that they are up there. yes i'm an office worker and i know just exactly every trick in the book as to why ppl lkike you want their paychecks every week, but they are too lazy too work.
also our front end ppl are scheduled any of these times: 1-9:30, 1:30-10, 2:00-10:30, 2:30-11:00, 3:00-11:30 and yes on saturdays we have 2 baggers, 2 cashiers, and an office person from 3:30-12. our grocery crew comes in at 10pm too and they are never in the way and always there if we need help. then on saturdays our groicery crew comes in at midnight. we are a 24/7 store. we are one of the best kroger stores around. nobody can compare to us.
