dept mang, told me too leave today because I said I can not work on the weekends anymore for other part time job, and said we DO NOT WORK AROUND OTHER JOB SO LEAVE NOW. the poster upstairs said flexable hours, but if your gay that does not apply. they got my e-schle. block so I can not use it on my laptop
told my other job mang, that this morning and she said she shops publics not kroger.
the main store mang does not like gay people at all, and he has been after me for 5 years now.
im not out so say, the other labor told me today they heard talk about me and treat me badly mangs, because im gay.
now i really am filing with feds, i got information from them, i can not beleave kroger has done this to me and others that left because they were gay in the store i work.
i feel now they are tring to set me up with stuff so they can fire me, there are others in the store thats watching them to help me.
its that bad, publics said they will hire me too, they dont have rouge mang. im leaveing now never too be back here , deleting my account, i do not want to be reminded of back happenings with kroger, still can not beleave how kroger is a very bad evil evil place, so soooooooooooo evil,
Ah I would say that you should pursue the discrimination issue. This isn't kroger being evil, it is your manager being evil. Kroger works with employees who have multiple jobs all the time.
Sorry for all the trouble you're getting from management. I'm gay, have gay co-workers, and my store is very nice to work in.
However, I think you're misinterpreting the fact that management won't work with your hours for your other job because you're gay.
Kroger hires you & tells you that you need to work weekends. That is the busiest time of the week and when you're needed.
As a part-time employee, you are basically obligated to work weekends unless you request one off every once in a while.
While I don't agree with this, they really don't have to work with your schedule. You work for Kroger, Kroger doesn't work for you.
Kroger sees you as a body, nothing more. There is no point to working with you and them being inconvenienced when they can just fill your spot, probably with someone for less $ and more open availability.
This isn't skilled labor. They aren't desperate to keep you, so they're not going to bend over backwards to keep you. This is a ****ty way to look at it, but it's reality.
If you look at the direction Kroger is going in, they are not interested in employee retention.
Kroger's staff is eventually going to look like the staff you see in your local McDonalds. Dept managers running around doing everything they can to do their best, being middle-aged and poorly paid yet still have tons of responsibility and high expectations from higher up.
Regular associates are going to be minimum-waged, probably high school students, drop-outs, or those who don't pursue college or trade school. "Burn n turn" I'd like to say.
This all being said, I hope your second job is a whole lot better than this place, and hopefully something that will work with you, be more accepting of you, and something you won't dread doing!
