I requested last wednesday off as a personal day because it was my birthday and the schedule said personal day (4) but I didn't get paid for it do I have to write it in the book at customer service for it to be counted?
Exactly how you get that day paid depends on your store's procedure. My store doesn't have any book for payroll or scheduling at the front desk. You need to have a quick chat with whomever handles kronos and/or payroll and they can fix the problem quickly.
payroll lady went to put it into her computer turns out I have no personal days! Then why the fu8k did it let me take one then! Been with kroger for 2 years and don't have any personal days WTF

You must be a bagger. Baggers don't get.....anything really. They can take "personal days" but it's the same thing as requesting the day off because you don't get paid for it.

That's strange. At my store, which I've been at for 25 years, everybody including baggers is entitled to personal days. After one year of service, part time people get two personal days. Full time people get three. After 15 years of service, you get an additional day. Ask around at your store to see what the policy is regarding baggers and personal days. Are you sure they didn't already pay out your personal days for this year? That happened to a lady in my store. She asked for the two days off following her vacation and they put it in as two personal days.
I'm assuming you mean why did it show personal day on the schedule? If so, then the answer is that the scheduling system is separate from the payroll and timekeeping system. Your dept manager simply put in sked that you were taking a personal day. However, in terms of pay and timekeeping, that doesn't actually get entered until payroll is processed in kronos.
