We have been on E-schedule since before I started working at Kroger (10 months ago), and it has its good points and bad points.
The CSM types in the full time people's schedules as well as those with the most seniority. For everybody else the computer does the scheduling based on availability. This is a big pain in the butt because the computer doesn't take into consideration when we're busy, when we're slow, etc.
We often don't have any courtesy clerks scheduled past 10:00 pm (we close at midnight), and sometimes there are no cashiers until 7:30 or 8:00 am when we should have somebody at 7:00 am.
But the good thing about it is when customers complain about not being able to check out, no carts in the lobby, etc., we can always blame E-schedule and that seems to get them off our back.

A flyer was posted just recently at our store that E schedule is coming soon. Are there any of my fellow Kroger comrades on this forum all ready on it? If so I have a few questions for myself and or others have asked me.
1. How does it work with seniority and scheduling? is there a possibility those w/ 20+years could no longer be getting "their" early shifts?
2. Does the department head no longer write a work schedule?

My store, up until we redid the scheduling for our 2nd uscan, used to have 1 bagger, 1 regular cashier, and 2 SCO cashiers come in at 6.
We have at least one cashier and bagger til 10 or 10:30, one of each til 12:00 and a closer to run SCO til 1am.
