My year is coming up and I have heard that I could get a decent raise.

A whopping 5 cents!

.....Okay, seriously, it depends on your contract. No one here will be able to help you unless you state your union number or at least your state.

I just hired on as a ASP for pretty decent money per hour (atleast decent money for a retail store). Our company gives out raises in  August... and I'm suppose to be getting a dollar.  The beauty of this is I just started in May. So 4 months in, I'm getting a dollar raise. I hope that atleast gives you high hopes!

We get our merit raises on Aug 1. Kinda pumped about it because I got a great review by my manager. If you're union, probably not as good as the non-union members.

Glad I'm not union. More money in my pocket!

Nobody at my location ever gets merit raises. Ever. I know a bunch of the old-timers and they never knew Kroger even offered merit raises.

One year, means two six month periods. A total of 10 cents above minimum wage here.

I hope you get a merit raise, but plan on only getting an extra 5 cents an hour on top of what you are already making.

IIRC, SayWhat works pharmacy. They're non-union positions, and as such are in a position to offer merit raises. Nobody else gets them, that's why nobody at your store had heard of them.

Our store is union.  I got 5 cents first 6 months, 5 cents first year, and 20 cents for second year.  3- 80 cents, 4- $1.00,  5- $1.50,  and 6- final $3.75.  My manager said he got a merit raise back in the 70s but they stopped doing that.

For the raise, go to this site.  http://www.kroger.com/Pages/Default018.aspx  This is the Kroger site where you can check your paycheck.

Scroll down to bottom right, click Express HR.  Log in with your EID.  Click About Personal Profile.  The 4th section down should show you your next raise.  Usually takes effect a week after the date shown.

techelite is correct, I'm in pharmacy, we get merit raises there. We don't get the smaller raises for hours worked that they do out in the store. If I worked out in the store I wouldn't make close to what I make now, or get 2 weeks vacation and 7 PH days.
