Hello all, I'm new to the forum, but have been with krogers for a few years.
Now, my store has always seemed to have some pretty bad communication, but now its causing issues. I'm in the fuel center and we have been preparing for the key retailing change, and we have our store manager who says the place looks great, and thanks us for a job well done. On the other hand, our co manager, who has admittied to being ocd about cleaning, basically says it constantly looks like crap, no matter what we do.
I know and understand this is a big change and important to the company and needs to be right, but I just don't believe our co manager is handling this the right way. I have even consulted her on different things to get her opinion on if something looks alright or not, just to get an "I don't know" or something equivelent, then turn around and talk to me like I'm 5 when she finally decides she doesn't like something.
What can I do? Or who can I talk to? I love my job, and I've never had anyone make me think different until this co manager, so please help me!
An OCD person will never be happy no matter how or what you do. If they are a clean/neat freak, it will never be clean/neat enough, ever.
I am OCD when stocking shelves. I have certain ways I want things done. I try to keep myself in check and not cause coworkers discompfort. But, some of them make my eyes twitch and I have to walk away and ignore it!
You could always hope the comanager gets transferred soon!
well this scenario is pretty common nowadays... managers have been brainwashed, threatened, and neutered until they are just Kroger delusional and walk around with rose colored glasses so they will get acceptable associate survey results...however, in the meantime the co-managers are delegated to get the actual key retailing, que vision, gross profit, store conditions, sanitation results that are demanded by G.O. via your division henchmen. So on one hand you have Mr. or Mrs. Everything Is Beautiful Unit manager wandering around the perimeter handing out phony compliments while the poorly paid co's are down in the trenches trying to put lipstick on a pig to pass muster. stores with mgmt. like this usually do look like crap if you take a close look and realize that it's not just the glass is half empty/half full deal it's that many times the glass is completely empty and dirty way too often...
