"permanently suspended (commonly known as an ejection, dismissal, expulsion, removal, or sending-off, often with personal embarrassment)"

Red Card: buh-bye, adios, don't let the door hit you on the way out, you are outta here.

Red card mean you ate suspended indefinitely (fired)

How does this work?  I was trained for 2 hours on the register but have never really had to run a register after that.  Probably time for refreshing training.

I know that company plants are sent in to test cashiers.  Also, I suspect the ATF will send in their own plants.  Is there a difference?  Or, missing both will get a cashier fired?

One or two things you can get fried or written up, but mostly likely you will be talk to about it and resign some paper

Doesn't Kroger have it set up where you have to punch in the birth date? Without which, you cannot process the sale?

Well then that is probably what is gonna jam the O.P. up; going through that action meant they knew what they were doing. Not an accident that system is set up the way it is.

Exactly. There is little room for there to be any "accident" in not properly carding a person.

Is the company policy to fire or just to be written up?  Because on statements signed it does not distingish between not iding and selling to minor? The very first words are you must id anyone under 40. Is there a difference between the state and krogertesting? The statement doesn't make a separation between the two offenses?

It might depend somewhat on how strict your state laws are. Here in TN we are legally required to ID anyone who appears to be under 50, but the company policy is every customer, every time, regardless of age. Essentially though you are probably facing termination and are personally responsible for any fines if you get caught breaking regs.

this should prompt management to fire you for cause.

you've had the alcohol training.  you did the WBL.  you knew better.

if it was just an outside company doing it for Kroger then that could be the end of it.

if it had been a sting, the usual course is the customer would leave the store with the alcohol, gone right to the officer overseeing the operation who would verify the sale, come in and get management involved immediately.

they run all kinds of test runs for expired id, underage id, no id check, id that only management can input, etc.
