I've been Separated? Umm..wtf??

Ok so yesterday I talked to my grocery manager and he said it was cool if I got changed to daytime hours because I've been having really bad trouble working over nights and getting up etc. I just hate it. Plus I have thyroid so it's even tougher for me to feel motivated to get up every night like that.

Today I call the head store manager and she gets all defensive with me, not even listening to what I'm trying to say. I tell her I already talked to the Grocery manager and she still keeps asking me the same thing over and over. "why have you been late? blah blah blah." I told her honestly that I'm just not suited for nights and I'm trying not to say something that will upset her.

Then she tells me I may have been separated from the company. What? If I was fired just tell me. This is AFTER I told you guys I can't work weekends from 11-6p then scheduling me last freaking minute from 1-8a that same night!! WTF! That means I would only get 3 hours of freaking sleep!

What does getting separated mean? My store is AWFUL with communication, and then they act like I should be doing the same. It's hypocritical. Please explain to me what on earth they're doing.

Get your union rep involved quickly.  Do not sign anything yet.  No call, no show is a voluntary quit.

If they schedule you for a split shift within 8 hours of each other, they have to pay you double time here.  So, I doubt they will enforce that issue.

They can and will write you up to the point of termination if you keep being late.  Either be on time or find a new job.

You can't just move onto days without the store managers approval.  Either work nights or find a new job.  Even then, here you have to be full time and can only do it at two certain times during the year if a spot is available.  Start sucking up to the manager if you still have a job and want to move to days.
