How do I go about buying Kroger Common Stock through the company? I went to yourkrogerbenefits. com and through some searching found a link to comptershare that apparently handles the stock.
It asks for a global id and password which I apparently dont have. Just looking to buy shares but can't figure it out. I already have a 401k started.
You need to talk to your asp or store manager and get the paperwork from them.
As for it being worth toilet paper, maybe, but some mighty fine tp. I started buying in at $10 a week when shares were under $20 dollars in 2006. For a long time it hovered around $24 a share, and now is around $37 a share, having almost broke $40 a share a little over a month ago. The nice thing about the program is that the amount you choose to deduct from your checking a week it taken before taxes, while nothing really, it adds up if you look at long term investment. My only complaint is they seem to change the site and credentials need to login every couple years.
Another good thing about it is you can have as little as $3.00 a week taken out of your check....and today it closed at $37.69 a share... At 1st I missed the money taken out of my check but now it don't even notice it in fact been thinking about upping the amount taken out of my check for it......
I've completed a simple paper I received at orientation, have had three payroll deductions, and have been mailed my pin. But I still don't have any idea about the global identifier either. Did you ever find out the answer to your question?
You can do it on your own and buy the stock or talk to the administrative assistant at your store if you are at a store location and make a minimum of $3.00 contribution per week which totals over $150 a year in stock. It adds up quickly. You will fill out a form and you can access your account via phone or online with computershare it is taken out of each check.
