Today my store called in someone for sacking assistance... from a Kroger in another nearby city. They gave him a full 8 hour shift, but still. That's when I know my store seriously needs to start hiring some more help soon.

You mean to tell mean there wasn't one employee in the entire store that they could have called and given those hours to?

I'd file a grievance if I were you. At least, someone should. Those hours should have been given to an employee at the store.

I'm sure someone from another department would have done it for the extra pay. If your store is that understaffed that's just weird.

I was asked to come to a store 30mins away once but I didn't know the way so I had to decline... I now know my way there and would go help out if asked.
