A while back, some guy came in and replaced the detergent dispenser on the dishwasher in the deli with a new type of dispenser. The original one was directly attached to the side of the dishwasher and used a solid type detergent. The new one uses liquid and connects differently. Anyway, when he removed the old dispenser it left two holes in the side of the dishwasher. So he plugged them up with some type of putty. Fast forward to now. Key Retailing came in and made us remove the putty from the dishwasher. They said it looked tacky. Nobody except deli workers can see it. Now there are two holes in the dishwasher and when you run it it spits water out on to the floor. I don't mean a little either. I mean a lot. How stupid is that?
But he is important to the story, thus, you guys are the morons. What position was this guy in that he felt he took the correct course of action to plug up the holes?
Also, this guy could have a wife, kids, a loving family and you guys are just trampling over the poor guy. Saying stuff like he's not important. You should all feel ashamed.
Which means he knew better how to handle the situation than other people. This also means he should be the one to rectify the situation. You should all think before you type, geez.
okay, the "some guy" was most likely with Ecolabs, the new company that is handling the sanitary systems for Kroger. He would not know anything about Key Retailing. The best course of action would be to put the dishwasher on the service hub, have the Deli Manager do this to get it fixed right. If it is not done before too long, seek out your store safety committee and complain that this is a slip hazard. If it still does not get done, contact your Union Rep. and complain that it is unsafe. Our contracts require that Kroger have a safe work place.
People need to be proactive and know how to get things done through the proper channels that Kroger has to get it done.
Re: service hub. Suggest they fill the holes with stainless bolts, small rubber washer, with a locking nut so it doesn't fall out. They will know not to let them interfere with the machines operation.
Even tho the putty was a practical fix(we can't have that at kroger), stainless screws will look better. The key retailor won't know what they are looking at then.
