today I was suspended for misuse of the VIP card. I got caught using not an associated reward card, but another VIP card 98 times. The total amount of money i saved stealing these fuel points added up to about 30$. When I was suspended I stated I would repay the money and I wanted a second chance. I return to hear about the final turn-out of the investigation on Monday night. Will I be separated or is there hope that since the amount was pretty low they will let me off with a warning ?

Unless they have a change of heart and are feeling extremely generous, they wouldn't have gone even so far as suspending you if they weren't already planning to fire you. I'm actually surprised they didn't just skip the suspension. You broke a rule no employee has any reason to be ignorant of, so you have no excuse. You have no reason to expect to get off clean, and if you do, it will only be sheer luck.
They feel it's stealing from the company how they look at it with the kroger card>>I have ran into the same thing but never used the card to use for my own use I just used the card to get the customer out of my face because they beg and whine for a discount when they leave there card at home or to lazy to get it out of there own car.I have scanned blank cards no ones name on it...It's like this we had a a supervisor take coupes from the ones that print from the register and she used them to get money off kroger feels it stealing for the company and the rightful customer that the coupe belongs to when its printed out. Well in the end she got fired for using the coupes. At one time Kroger never had a policy on the coupe issue and the register printed out 1 dollar of any item in store which like all the employees was using at my store when customers didn't want the coupes they keep them and brought like cokes and stuff with them. But you do that now you will be fired easy as that.
there should be a 'forgot card' available to every register for those customers who didn't bring theirs. senior discounts won't work with it, you need a real card to scan.
There's NO way you'll be given a second chance. If you manage to get one, you'll be lucky. What it basically boils down to is theft. But at least you have $30.00 worth of fuel discounts. How long have you been with The Company? You could always say "you didn't know" this will NOT work, however, if you signed a paper saying you will not misuse cards. IF it even works... Good luck.
in michigan we have a "store guest card" it stays at customer service. we scan that card whenever someone doesnt have their card. it has thousands and thousands and thousands of fuel points. it was given to us by loss prevention so they watch it. or what a lot of us do is just type 41612345678. just 416 and 8 random numbers and it comes up as a kroger card. not supposed to... but it's quicker than getting the guest card. but i think after seeing you guys gettin in trouble i'll start using the guest card!

Lol oh how the divisions differ. Doing exactly what you describe in midsouth would be grounds for possible termination.
We haven't been completely ****ing up as of late, so corporate comes out to pick on us and make it look like we are.
They are checking for a few different things. Can you get the BOB items, do you manually key in the markdown items correctly, do you pretend to be friendly and grin like a ****ing idiot, and do you handle a missing shopper's card correctly?
They might write you up for missing any of them, but two of them are more important than the rest. BOB items are important since it's the one and only possible source of shrink, and the shopper's card since you are obviously stealing the fuel points.
You're probably just unlucky, but if you are a problem, it will be a convenient excuse to get rid of you. Since you were suspended, this is likely the case.
After we got stung and the unlucky bastard got written up for using a blank card and throwing it back in the drawer, my manager made sure to go around and have a word with everyone he cares about.
The thing to do is to scan a fresh card, and throw it down the belt or tuck it in one of their bags. Make sure the customer leaves with it, even if they don't want it. I don't know what we are supposed to do when we run out of cards, but we haven't gotten quite there yet.
Well people are bad at the fuel they whine and beg for just 3 cents off a gallon of gas .God the stories I have for working at Kroger for 15 years you would not believe me I have seen it all from a ex-empolyee thought it was a good idea get drunk on the job by stealing a bottle of whine and drinking it there and the fool even managed to use a box cutter to dang near take off one of his fingers..So he was drunk and trying do his job opening boxs in housewares..But for the record I have never been CA'ed for using blank card we just got a big fat warning from management in fuel.
I have one to top that... Try having a now ex-employee that decided to up and crap on the checkstand. Yes, he took an honest crap after hours. THEN DENIED IT..., UH, DUDE, CHECK IT OUT: YOURE ON CAMERA!!
