Monday at work in the deli the mom of the nights closer called to say he may not be in due to a "minor emergency". Turns out that emergency was the fact that he got arrested for breaking into a local middle school. Several employees got home that night and saw his mugshot on the news. The next night he came into work like nothing happened. After the store manager talked to him nothing else was said. He was allowed to work like nothing happened.
He bragged in the break room that he had priors in another state and a juvenile record and several employees are uncomfortable around him. Oh and I forgot to mention that he's only 19. He's a lazy employee and has to be led around like a kid and told how and when to do everything. No initiative at all. My dept. manager, who asked the co-manager why he was still on the schedule and he just turned his back to her and walked away.
Have any of you heard of anything like this before? I know were desperate for help but to allow a criminal who is out on bond to keep his job is beyond stupid.
Believe it or not, it's all about liability. That's how far we've gone in this lawyer filled, bottom scum feeder litegenous, best of all possible worlds. Companies are afraid to take a stance in situations like this.
We had a young man who cyber stalked a girl; got busted dead to rights by the F.B.I., no less. Went to court, plea bargained it all down. GUILTY AS HELL. This is a guy who works around a million other young women. Did we fire him? No. Hell, we were sternly advised to not even engage in conversation about him....or risk losing OUR jobs.
This puke has been Federally banned from using the internet again. He's on a Predator Watch list. And he still works for us.
