This new Esched is terrible. Everything worked before and now it is going to bring down the morale and make people quit. If you are a Lead or Dept Manager you have to work till 10pm once a week, and get later shifts? So basically if you are higher up in a dept then you are getting screwed. Its not worth the extra 25 cents trust me

You should have been working one night a week if you are a department head anyway.

At least that's how it is in my store. And i'm assuming it's like that for the whole division, because I saw a paper once that said that all department heads/leads/assistants have to work at least one night a week. If you're a dept. manager you should be working with your evening crew once in a while so you know whats going on.

This.

Also, my a-hole store mgr makes us work late 2 nights a week anyway so I'm not really feeling sympathy for OP, though I do get a better hourly premium as a backup....

Wait, what's wrong with later shifts? I'm honestly confused.

They're technically not "preferred." Also, some people actually prefer the earlier shifts so they can be home in the evening.

That makes no sense whatsoever. Some people prefer later shifts. So, I guess that would make late shifts preferred then. Also, if you're not home in the evening, you'll be home earlier.

Once again, the logic is not here. Maybe its brainwashing?

most people would rather get their shift over with and leave for the day, still having the remainder of the day and evening to do whatever. i prefer late and closing shifts, so when i'm scheduled it's technically against seniority.. with my senioirty i could work weekends 9a-530p or 10a-630p but i prefer 530p-2a or 6p-11p
